| Wool
Dyeing |
| Wool
is the basic raw material for weaving hand
knotted carpets. Wool's special advantage
is its flexibility, durability and absorbent
quality.
Due to the absorbent quality, wool after
dyeing impacts a deep rich hue to colors.
The common colors are red, rose, green,
gray, blue and beige. Based on these common
colors numerous other shades have been developed. |
 |
| Looms
Knoting |
| Carpets
are made on looms made of wood or iron.
The loom consists of two vertical polls
with two horizontal bars across. Cotton
thread are strenthened across the loom vertically
(called warp) and horizontally called weft.
The cotton base adds extra strength to the
carpet.
Of the many knotting techniques, the sehna
knot is used in our carpets. In the sehna
knot the yarn encircles one warp, one end
emerging between a pair and the other outside
the second warp thread from below. The carpet
is made by the weavers tying colored yarn
to warp. Rows of knots are woven and are
then beaten down with a comb to impart solidity
and thickness to the pile. |
 |
| Washing |
| Our carpet
washing technique is uniquely special. Our
technique gives them a silky sheen, drains
our all excess color and makes the pile
soft and shiny. |
 |
| The
Finishing |
| Lastly once we have prepared
a beautifully designed carpet, we trim it
so that it is level all the way through. Thus,
making a carpet clean and fine looking, this
all also have the effect of removing loose
or uneven threads. Once this is all done,
your carpet is ready for delivery, worldwide,
wherever beauty and quality are valued. |
 |
| Drying |
| After
washing, the carpets are then dryed in the
hot Asian sun to help bring out the true
colors. |
